THE OTHERS PROJECT
"THE OTHERS" - AN ONGOING ANALOG-DIGITAL REMIX PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH FOUR OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL WRITERS SUCH AS AMIGO, SCKRE, SHANE HUSS AND MUROE.

„THE OTHERS“ (full project link) is a project that I started during the first lockdown phase of the Covid19 pandemic in 2020. Confronted with such a diverse and massive output on all the social media channels, I asked myself what I could do with so much input from other artists.

So I spent much time in the studio to develop a workflow that focuses on the conversion process from analog sketches to digital and back to analog.
This project kept me motivated and inspired me at the same time and it was a first testrun to be continued in collaborations with other artists in the near future.

When I first started with the idea to ask a hand full of other writers to allow me to use some of their sketches for the remixing project, the lightpainting part had a certain thrill for myself, to see new technology usage bringing the illuminated prinitng trails to life. With AMIGO, SCKRE, SHANE HUSS and MUROE I ended up with having great diverse sketches to fool around with and by converting them into simplified vectorized outlines, I was able to remix the content via my penplotter device in multiple ways.

The lightpaintings result from a new technique where I work with a so called penplotter allows me to capture the plotting process from underneath a glass table with focusing on a customized touch-sensitive fiberglass pen (Thanks Reinhard Gupfinger to make it happen) and converting this process into a lightpainting still or animation with virtual ink.
