TRIANGULAR LIGHTPAINTING ROBOT
This is a work in progress casestudy, combining robotics and light to creat realtime generated lightpainting animations. Based on my former robotic projects I started with the R & D of a new lightpainting form with attaching an LED with a KYO liteblade adapter and various acrylic blades on top of a Kuka robot.

FLOWMOTION WITH VIRTUAL.INK
This is a roughcut from the first three studio sessions generating abstract lightpaintings recorded with the new live-software/hardware Virtual.Ink (Vers. 1.7.0rc3 on a MacbookPro) I got from Eric Paré. Thanks for support!!!
FASHION & PARAMETRIC DESIGN
In collaboration with F&T students from UDK Linz and Johannes Braumann we´ve worked out robotic lightpaintings and additional I evolved parametric architectural design studies based on lightpaintings.
TAPEART MEETS LIGHTPAINTING
Short stopmotion loop of one of my studioworks with tapeart combined with lightpainting in a quick tryout-session.
ARTE - 5 MINUTES WITH TOFA
ARTE CREATIVE - this is a german/french TV-report about myself from the ConsSpace Berlin convention. Working with firecrackers, virtual graffiti and in general a very nice making-of created by ilovegraffiti.de
BULLETTIME RABBIT
Rabbit landing from outerspace - a stopmotion 360° spinning animation shortclip created on a single squaremeter in my studio just for eastern.
REALTIME ANIMATED LIGHTPAINTING
Theres photography on the one side and realtime generated animation on the other. Even if the results are basically difficult to compare, this test-clip shows my development which comes more and more closer to the picture result - but also creates completly different and inspiring new results. The original input is shown in the upper right corner, so it´s easy to compare the evaluations.
I´ve used a MaxMSP patch for the control of brightness, coloring, saturation and fadetime - filmed on in FullHD 25fps with a Canon 7D and worked with various lights like pixelstick, Led Lenser M-7, and my LED-HulaHoop.
ROBOTIC LIGHTPAINTING
This is clip is showing the first testrun during our presentation-preparation at Ars Electronica Center in their giant 8K Deepspace cinema.
The realtime generated animation was the major thing for the opening of the exhibition "Creative Robotics" and was live shown on the 8K screen .
The project is an ongoing collaboration beween myself and Johannes Braumann from Robotsinarchitecture and I´m keen that the first result worked out that good. Thanks!
POSTCITY LIGHTPAINTING
ARS ELECTRONICA was offering me this great opportunity: Location - PostCity 2015. Besides my workshops during the ARS´ festival, I have used the time to create this analogue digital crossover project.
The animation was shot over 3 days in single steps with an output of more than 400 pictures using flashes, LED torches and a pixelstick. The spinning cube is originally taken from a gif-animation-loop of 48pix) which I transferred on the pixelstick to create a remix of urban space and this digital loop. Each frame was minimum shot twice to have enough choices in the editing process.
TOFA feat. DEJOE
Combning a writers canvas with lightpainting animations is nothing new. But in this case the idea was going one step further. I asked passionate and wellknown graffiti-artist Dejoe from Berlin to spray a piece in outlines only on a black fly-net which was spanned across a room.
The animation that came out was captured from the backside so I was able to repaint the same lines over and over.
With an output of more than 150 single pictures it was possible to reedit the stopmotion and get this shakey look of a glowing masterpiece.
ADIDAS AR 2.0
You don´t need a big studio - you just need a good idea: Adidas AR 2.0 Basketball Shoes Hero Blue animated in a stopmotion lightwriting animation. Quick an simple.

3GO3 - MUSIC CLIP
This clip combines 3D-animated effects with a lightpainting stopmotion clip which I created with handcrafted 3D sculptures. Actually those sculptures are the leftover parts from a huge Vasarely adapted lasercut stencil.
Dave Tarrida (Autofake) came up with this nice acid groove and
ARD NACHTMAGAZIN
A short report from the past (12/2010) which was screened at ARD Nachtmagazin.
The stuff was filmed at Tresor Berlin where I worked on new lightpainting photos in collaboration with my mate Gerrald feat. Honk one of my favorite character masks, made out of an old tape recording machine.
